| Monarchy | Government in which a king or queen exercises central power. |
| Anarchy/Anarchist | Person who wants to abolish all government. |
| Monotheistic | Believing in one god |
| Polytheistic | Believing in many gods |
| Theocracy | Government run by religious leaders |
| Religion | What people believe in |
| Latitude | Distance north or south of the equator |
| Longitude | Distance east or west of the prime meridian |
| Equator | Imaginary line around the earth |
| Atheist | Someone who does not believe in God |
| Ideology | System of thought and belief |
| Government | A system of authoritative control over others |
| Democracy | Government in which the people hold ruling power |
| Dictator | Ruler who has complete control over a government |
| Autocrat | Ruler who has complete authority |
| Interdependence | Mutual dependence of countries of goods, resources and knowledge from other parts of the world. |
| Socialism | System in which the people as a whole rather than private individuals own all property and operate all businesses. |
| Capitalism | Economic system in which the means of production are privately owned and operated for profit. |
