What are elements? a pure substances that cannot be broken down to a simpler form by physical or chemical means
what are compounds? It is two or more elements combined chemically that cannot be separated by physical means
What are mixtures? It is two or more elements combined physically and cannot be separated or changed by chemical means
what is matter? It is everything that takes up space
what are the types of mixtures? the types are suspension and colloid
what are the classes of mixtures the classes are homogeneous and hetergeneous
what are pure substances? a substance in which there is only one type of particle so that each element contains one particle
what ways could you use to separate mixtures? evaporation, distillation, centrifuge, magnetism, and filtration are the ways you can separate mixtures
what is matter classified by? it is classified by chemical and physical properties
what are the types of matter? the types are solid, liqiud, gas, and plasma
What is matter made out of? it is made out of atoms and molecules
What is the difference between compounds and mixtures? Compounds are made by chemical reactions and mixtures are made by physical changes.
what is the difference between pure substances and elements? Elements is a pure substance but pure substances could also be compounds because it compounds are two elements mixed together to make one
How do you separate a mixture of liquids? Distillation is the way you separate liquids
What is chemical property? chemical property is the way an element reacts with other substances
what is physical property? physical property is the way an element looks physically
