| boiling point | temperature at which a substance boils |
| density | the ratio of a materials mass to its volume |
| physical propertie | any characteristic of a material that can be observed or measures without changing the composition of the substances in the material |
| physical change | a change that occurs when some properties of a material change but the substances in the material stay the same |
| filtration | is a process that separates materials based on their size |
| distillation | is a process that separates the substances in a solution based on their boiling points |
| chemical propertie | is any ability to produce a change in the composition of matter |
