This is the list of vocabulary terms from MLK's letter from Birmingham Jail

humiliating causing shame or to hurt pride The segregation signs were humiliating to black people.
injustices acts that are unfair, against the law, or discriminatory
inescapable describing something that one cannot escape from
lynch the act of a mob (historically the KKK or other group) killing, hanging, and or burning a person to death for an alleged crime.
lamentably sadly to lament means to cry out in sadness over something. I lament that I did not take school seriously.
legitimate true. True to the law; real.
multi-ethnic of many cultures, races, or backgrounds multi=many ethn=race or culture
mutual, mutuality being important to both groups or parties rather than only one side or the other
moratorium an end or a stoppage to something Mr. Hissong put a moratorium to substitute teachers using computer labs.
monologue mono=one log=words one person speaking
dialogue dia=across log=words speech or messages which are transferred from one person to another
negotiation the act of two or more parties coming together to reach consensus or an agreement
ominous omen=something that tells the future. The dark clouds on the horizon were ominous and could lead to failure of the mission.
provincial province=a geographical area like a state provincial=describes something that would be unique to a certain area The Southern dialect is provincial to the South.
