Model A structure or picture of an object
Atom The smallest unit of matter
Nucleus The center of an atom which contains protons and electrons.
Proton Positively charged sub-atomic particles
Neutron A neither positively charged or negatively charged sub-atomic particle
Electron A negatively charged sub-atomic particle
Atomic Number The indicator number of protons
Atomic Symbol/Nuclear Symbol/Chemical Symbol The identifying symbol of an element
Sub-atomic Particles The smallest fragment of the smallest unit of matter
Molecule A group of linked atoms
Lewis Structure Structure that shows the bonding of atoms
Bohr Model A model of an atom showing a positive charged nucleus with negative charged electrons orbiting it
Electron Shell An orbit followed by electrons around the nucleus
Valence Electron An electron capable of participating in the formation of chemical bonds
Matter Solid, Liquid,or Gas
