When are the Green-Lipped Mussels harvested? When they are 4 inches long. This process can take 18-24 months.
What type of process is used to make Omega XL from the Green-Lipped Mussel? A cold extraction process is used to extract Omega-3 from the Green-Lipped Mussel. This process does not apply heat which can destroy the marine Lipids in the product.
What solution is added to the Green-Lipped Mussel powder to extract the oil? A gentle carbon dioxide solution is added to the Mussel powder to extract the oil. Then it's removed.
