Geography

basin bowl-shaped area of land surrounded by higher land
landform a physical feature, such as a plain, mountain, hill, valley, or plateau, on the earth’s surface
mountain range a row of mountains
piedmont an area at or near the foot of a mountain
plateau area of high, mostly flat land
volcano opening in the earth, often raised, through which lava, rock, ashes, and gases are forced out
sea level the level of the surface of an ocean or sea
current the part of a body of water flowing in a certain direction
drainage basin land drained by a river system
fall line a place where the elevation of the land drops sharply, causing rives to form waterfalls or rapids
