| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Lead and support | One teacher is in the front of the room teaching and the other teacher is walking the room answering questions or keeping students on task |
| Station Teaching | Each teacher is at a different station doing a different activity. |
| Parallel Teaching | Dividing the class into smaller groups teaching the exact same content at the exact same time. |
| Alterative Teaching | One teacher is teaching a small group while the other teacher is working with a small group. |
| Joint Teaching | Both teachers deliver the content as one. |
| accommodation | a change that helps a student overcome or work around the disability. |
| modification | a change in what is being taught to or expected from the student. |
| inclusion | approach where special education students can spend most or all time with non disabled peers. |
| instructional technology | Design, development, use, management and evaluation of process and resources for learning. It is often defined either in terms of media and other technology |
| assistive technology | includes devices that assist individuals who have disabilities to perform tasks that are difficult for them to complete. |
