Indication | Treatment of: defib-refractory VF/pulseless VT, Polymorphic VT, wide complex QRS tach of uncertain origin. Control Hemodynamically stable VT when cardioversion unsuccessful. Adjunct to cardioversion of SVT or PSVT. Rate control in A-flutter or Flutter |
Contraindication | Bradycardia, 2nd or 3rd degree heart block, unless function pacemaker present. cardiogenic shock, hypotension, pulmonary congestion |
Adverse Reaction/Side Effect | Cardiovascular:bradycardia, hypotension, asytole/cardiac arrest, atrio-ventricular block, torsades, CHF. GI & Hepatic:nausea, vommiting, abnormal liver function test. Skin:slate-blue pigmentation. Other:fever, headache,dizziness,flushing,photophobia |
Adult Dose | VF/Pulseless VT:300mg IV push over 30-60 sec, may repeat 3-5 min w/ 150mg IV push. Wide Complex Tach,A-flutter,A-fib SVT:150mg IV over 10 mins(mix w/50mL bag of D5W)may repeat every 10 min. |
Pediactric Dose | VF/Pulseless VT: 5mg/kg IV push, may repeat every 5 two times to a total max of 15mg/kg/day |
