Matter Anything that takes up space and mass
Volume The space an object takes up
Meniscus The curve at a liquid's surface by which one measures the volume of the liquid
Mass The amount of matter in an object
Weight The measure of gravitational force exerted on an object
Inertia The tenancy to resist change in motion
Physical Property Any property that is measurable and can be seen
Thermal Conductor A material which heat energy can be transferred through easily
State The physical forms of matter which include solid, liquid, and gas
Density The ratio of the mass of a substance to the volume of the substance
Solubility The ability of one substance to dissolve into another at a given temperature and pressure
Physical Change Change of a substance without changing its chemical composition or identity
Chemical Properties A property of matter that describes a substance's ability to participate in chemical change
Chemical Change A change that changes the identity of the substance
Units of measure for liquids Milliliter,liter,kiloliter
The correct way to measure liquid volume Take the number on the bottom line of the meniscus
Equation for Density D=m/v
Signs of a chemical change Gases form, bubbles, change in color,smell, or taste
