|---|---|
| Matter | Anything that takes up space and mass |
| Volume | The space an object takes up |
| Meniscus | The curve at a liquid's surface by which one measures the volume of the liquid |
| Mass | The amount of matter in an object |
| Weight | The measure of gravitational force exerted on an object |
| Inertia | The tenancy to resist change in motion |
| Physical Property | Any property that is measurable and can be seen |
| Thermal Conductor | A material which heat energy can be transferred through easily |
| State | The physical forms of matter which include solid, liquid, and gas |
| Density | The ratio of the mass of a substance to the volume of the substance |
| Solubility | The ability of one substance to dissolve into another at a given temperature and pressure |
| Physical Change | Change of a substance without changing its chemical composition or identity |
| Chemical Properties | A property of matter that describes a substance's ability to participate in chemical change |
| Chemical Change | A change that changes the identity of the substance |
| Units of measure for liquids | Milliliter,liter,kiloliter |
| The correct way to measure liquid volume | Take the number on the bottom line of the meniscus |
| Equation for Density | D=m/v |
| Signs of a chemical change | Gases form, bubbles, change in color, smell, or taste |
