Volume a measure of the size of body or region in three dimensional space
Meniscus the curve at a liquids surface
Mass a measure of the amount of matter in an object
Weight a measure of the gravitational force exerted on an object
Inertia the tendency of an object to resist a change in motion unless an outside force acts on it
Physical Property a characteristic of a substance that does not involve a chemical change, such a density, colour, or hardness
Thermal Conductor a material through which energy can be transferred as heat
Density the ratio of the mass of a substance to the volume of the substance
Solubility the ability of once substance to dissolve in another at a given temperature and pressure
Physical Change a change of matter from one form to another without a change in chemical properties
Chemical property a property of matter that describes a substance's ability to participate in chemical reactions
Chemical change a change that occurs when one or more substances change into entirely new substances with different properties
State liquid, solid, gas
Units of Measure for Liquids liters
Correct way to measure liquid in a cylinder read the scale at the lowest part of the meniscus at eye level
Equation for Density D=M/V
Signs of Chemical Change change in colour and odor, production of heat, fizzing and foaming
