| Absent mindedness | A form of forgetfulness that results from inattention |
| Amnesia | Memory loss from brain injury or disease |
| Anterograde amnesia | Can't remember certain events because of brain injury or disease |
| Blocking | The inability to retrieve info once stored |
| Explicit memory | Knowledge that consists of the conscious recall of facts and events |
| Implicit memory | Memory made from knowledge of memories |
| Latent learning | Learning that occurs in the absence of reinforcement and is not demonstrated until later |
| Classical conditioning | Form of associative learning in which a neutral stimulus becomes associated with stimulus to which one has an automatic response |
| Operant conditioning | Changing behavior by manipulating the consequences |
| Primary reinforcers | Unlearned reinforcers that satisfy our needs (food,water,sleep) |
| Extinction | The weakening of disappearance of a conditioned response in absence of reinforcement |
| Modeling | The imitation of behaviors performed by others |
| Intelligence | A set of cognitive skills that include abstract thinking, reasoning, problem solving, and ability to acquire knowledge |
