| Potential Energy | The energy that an object has due to its position, condition, or chemical composition. |
| Mechanical Energy | The sum of an objects kinetic and potential energy. |
| Energy Transformation | When energy changes from one form to another. |
| Law of Conservation of Energy | Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only change forms. |
| Kinetic Theory of Matter | All of the particles that make up matter are constantly in motion. |
| Temperature | A measure of the average kinetic energy of all the particles in an object. |
| Degree | Equally spaced units between two points. |
| Thermometer | An instrument used to measure temperature. |
