TermDefinition
Kinetic Energy The energy has because of its motion.
Mechanical Energy The energy that an object has because of its motion or position.
Model A representation of a system, object or concept. Models are used to simplify and make things easier to understand.
Potential Energy Stored energy.
System A set of parts that are connected in some way.
Circuit The complete loop through which an electrical current can pass.
Electrical Energy Energy from interactions between charged particles (electrons).
Electricity The presence or movement of charged particles called electrons.
Energy The ability to do work. Anything that makes matter move or change
Energy Transfer When energy is changed from one form to another. For example, electrical energy into light energy.
Green Energy Energy that comes from sources that do not pollute the Earth.
Primary Energy Energy sources found in nature that have not been subjected to any conversion or transformation process.
Secondary Energy Energy which has been transformed from another source.
Force Push or pull.
Simple Machines Make work easier for us by allowing us to push or pull over increased distances.
Mechanical Advantage The difference between the applied force and the work accomplished.
Mechanical Efficiency The effectiveness of the machine's performance.
