Internal Combustion Engine Heat engine in which fuel is burned in a combustion chamber inside the engine
Radiation Transfer of energy by electromagnetic waves
Specific Heat Amount of heat needed to raise the temperature of 1 kg of a substance by 1 degrees Celsius
Temperature A measure of the average value of the kinetic energy of the particles in a material
Thermal Energy The sum of the kinetic and potential energy of particles in a material
Thermal Pollution Increase in temperature of a natural body of water; caused by adding warmer water
