Matter

QuestionAnswer
What are the three states of matter Liquid, Solid , Gas
Give an example of a liquid One could be: Water
Give an example of a solid One could be: A rock
Give an example of a gas Once could be: Carbon Monoxide
What is a chemical change A change in which the items properties change Ex: Rusting
What is a physical change When the item changes in a way you can see it, item doesn't change what it is. Ex: Bending
What is the difference of a physical and chemical change In a physical change the item doesn't change what it in. In a chemical change the item changes what it is (its properties change).
What is matter All of the stuff in the world is matter. anything that takes up space is matter.
What is a graduated cylinder A tool which is a cylinder that has water in it. It had lines marked along it for measurements. It is used to find how much mass is in an object.
How is a graduated cylinder used. By getting eye level with the water and seeing what line the water is. If you want to see how much mas a object has then you put it in the graduated cylinder and compare the water level from what it was without the object and after.
The curved water line in a graduated cylinder is_____ A meniscus
Does mass changed based on what planet your on or weight? Weight! This is because weight is the measure of how much weight is being pulled on you and every planet has a different pull of gravity. Mass is just how much "stuff" is inside of you and no pull of gravity has to do with that.
How do you find volume Length x width x height
How do you find density Mass divided by volume
Define volume. How much space matter takes up
Define density Relates the mass of an object to its volume
Define Mass The amount of matter in an object
Define weight The measure of gravity being pulled on an object
Define atom The smallest part of a element
Define molecule Two atoms combined
What is a chemical bond A pulling force that holds atoms togeather
Define element a kind of matter that cannot be broken down Ex: Iron and oxygen
What do you use to measure matter normally Grams
What do we use normally use to measure volume Centimeters cubed
What is a compound A compound is a substance formed when two or more chemical elements are chemically bonded together. A compound cannot be separated.
What is a mixture Mixtures are the one product of a mechanical blending or mixing of chemical substances like elements and compounds, without chemical bonding or other chemical change.

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
