Empiricism the theory that all knowledge is derived from sense-experience

Functionalism the theory that mental states can be sufficiently defined by their cause, their effect on other mental states, and their effect on behavior.
Industrial/organizational psychology the scientific study of human behavior in the workplace and applies psychological theories and principles to organizations
Psychometrics the science of measuring mental capacities and processes.
