Frame of Reference A system of objects that are not moving with respect to one another.
Relative Motion The movement in relation to a frame of reference.
Distance Is the length of a path between two points.
Vector a variable quantity that can be resolved into components.
Resultant Vector A vector that is equal to the sum of two or more vectors.
Speed distance traveled per unit time.
Average Speed Total distance divided by total time.
Instantaneous Speed The speed of an object at one instant of time.
Velocity Speed in a given direction.
Acceleration The act of accelerating.
Free Fall The ideal falling motion of something subject only to a gravitational field.
Constant Acceleration Is a steady change in velocity.
Linear Graph A line graph in which the data points yield a straight line.
Nonlinear Graph A line graph in which the data points do not fall along a straight line.
