frame of reference is a system of objects that are not moving in respect to eachother
relative motion is movement in relation to a frame of reference
distance is the length between two points
vector is a quantity that has magnitude and direction
resultant vector is the vector sum of two or more vectors
speed distance/time
average speed v, is the total distance traveled, d, divided by the time, t, it takes to travel the distance
instantaneous speed the rate at which an object is moving at any given time.
velocity the speed and direction of an object
acceleration the rate at which velocity changes
free fall the movement of an object toward earth solely because of gravity
constant acceleration a steady change in velocity
linear graph straight line data
nonlinear graph when a curve connects points on a graph
