| distance | is the length between two points |
| vector | is a quantity that has magnitude and direction |
| resultant vector | is the vector sum of two or more vectors |
| speed | distance/time |
| average speed | v, is the total distance traveled, d, divided by the time, t, it takes to travel the distance |
| instantaneous speed | the rate at which an object is moving at any given time. |
| velocity | the speed and direction of an object |
| acceleration | the rate at which velocity changes |
| free fall | the movement of an object toward earth solely because of gravity |
| constant acceleration | a steady change in velocity |
| linear graph | straight line data |
| nonlinear graph | when a curve connects points on a graph |
