| speed | the ratio of distance an object moves to the amount of time the object moves. |
| average speed | how fast something moved the entire trip. |
| instantaneous speed | the rate that an object is moving at a given moment of time. |
| velocity | the speed and time that an object is moving in. |
| acceleration | the rate at which a velocity changes. |
| free fall | acceleration due to a change in speed. |
| constant acceleration | a steady change in velocity. |
| linear graph | the displayed data forms straight line parts. |
| nonlinear graphs | accelerated motion represented by a curved line on a distance-time graph. |
