| power | rate which 1 form of energy is transformed into another |
| machine | a device that changes the amount of force |
| mechanical advantage | number of times a machine changes its force |
| efficency | percent of the input work |
| inclined plane | a flat sloped surface |
| wedge | and inclined plane that moves |
| screw | inclined plane wrapped around a cylinder |
| lever | rigid bar that pivots on a fulcrum |
| fulcrum | the point where the lever pivots |
| wheel and axel | 2 attached circular objects with a common axis |
| pulley | a grooved wheel with a rope or string |
| compound machine | a machine that has multiple simple machines |
