| mucous membrane | they contain specialized cells that produce mucus |
| spleen | monitors circulating blood stimulates immune system |
| integumentary system | protects your body from invasion with skin and it controls temps |
| liver | secretes bile regulates blood chemistry |
| involuntary muscles | perform without consciously being told to do so |
| alveoli | sites of gas exchange between air and blood |
| epithelial | tissue that lines and covers most of your body |
| mucus | lines openings to the outside of the world |
| artery | carry blood from the heart to capillaries |
| pancreas | secretes digestive enzymes |
| cartilage | firmer tissue than connective tissue and can with stand pressure |
| epidermis | covers surface protects underlying skin |
| endocrine system | acts as a control center and produce hormones |
| trachea | filters air traps particles in mucus, cartilage keeps airway open |
