Westernisation | Methods and values of western culture/colonising nations and capitalism are the basis of change |
Industrialisation | Greater emphasis on inanimate forms of energy than on human and animal power |
Modernisation | Cultural and socio-economic change whereby less developed societies acquire characteristics of industrialised societies e.g. technology |
Social differentiation | Criteria used to divide society into groups according to perceived differences |
