alternative adj. an alternative idea, plan etc is different from the one you have and can be used instead. Have you any alternative suggestions?
circumstance n(c). the conditions that affect a situation, action, event etc.境遇. I can't imagine a circumstance in which I would be willing to steal.
comment n. an opinion that you express about someone or something. Does anyone have any questions or comments?
compensate vi. to replace or balance the effect of something bad.弥补. Because my left eye is so weak, my right eye has to work harder to compensate.
component n(c). one of several parts that together make up a whole machine, system etc.部分. Exercise is one of the key components of a healthy lifestyle.
consent n(u). permission to do something.同意. He took the car without the owner's consent.
considerable adj. fairly large, especially large enough to have an effect or be important. We've saved a considerable amount of money.
constant adj. happening regularly or all the time.稳定的. There was a constant stream of visitors to the house.
constrain vt. to stop someone from doing what they want to do.束缚. Financial factors should not constrain doctors from prescribing the best treatment for patients.
contribute v. to give money, help, ideas etc to something that a lot of other people are also involved in.贡献. The volunteers contribute their own time to the project.
convene v. if a group of people convene, or someone convenes them, they come together, especially for a formal meeting This is a report by convened by the National Institutes of Health.
coordinate vt. to organize an activity so that the people involved in it work well together and achieve a good result.调整. The agencies are working together to coordinate policy on food safety.
core n(c). the most important or central part of something. The core of the book focuses on the period between 1660 and 1857.
corporate adj. belonging to or relating to a corporation. Vince is vice-president of corporate communications.
correspond vi. if two things or ideas correspond, the parts or information in one relate to the parts or information in the other.对应. The two halves of the document did not correspond.
criterion n. a standard that you use to judge something or make a decision about something.标准. Academic ability is not the sole criterion for admission to the college.
deduce vt. to use the knowledge and information you have in order to understand something or form an opinion about it. What did Darwin deduce from the presence of these species?
demonstrate vt. to show or prove something clearly. The study demonstrates the link between poverty and malnutrition.
document n(c). a piece of paper that has official information on it.
dominate v. to control someone or something or to have more importance than other people or things.主导. The industry is dominated by five multinational companies.
emphasis n. spacial attention or importance. In Japan there is a lot of emphasis on politeness.
ensure vt. to make certain that something will happen properly. The hospital tries to ensure that people are seen quickly.
exclude vt. to deliberately not include something. The judges decided to exclude evidence which had been unfairly attained.
framework n(c). a set of ideas, rules, or beliefs from which something is developed, or on which decisions are based. This paper provides a framework for future research.
fund n(c). an amount of money that is collected and kept for a particular purpose. The house fell into disrepair until a restoration fund was set up.
