Term | Definition |
---|---|
concentrated, | solution in which a large amount of solute is dissolved in the solvent |
conductivity, | property of a solution that allows electrical charges to pass through the material easily |
dilute, | solution that has a small amount of solute dissolved in the solvent |
dissolve, | the process by which a solute forms a solution in a solvent |
saturated, | solution that contains all the solute it can hold at a certain temperature |
solubility curve, | graph that is used to determine how much solute will dissolve at any temperature on the graph |
solubility, | the maximum amount of a solute that can be dissolved in a given amount of solvent at a given temperature |
solute, | the substance being dissolved |
solution, | mixture that has the same composition throughout |
solvent, | the substance that does the dissolving |
supersaturated, | solution that contains more solute than a saturated solution at the same temperature |
