Matter Molecules and Atoms

Definition
Atom The basic unit of a chemical element
Matter Substance in which any physical object is consisted of.
Molecules Smallest physical unit of an element or compound.
Element that cannot be separated into simpler substances and that singly or in combination constitute all matter
Compund consisting of two or more substances or ingredients or elements or parts
Mixture a substance consisting of two or more elements mixed together
Heterogenous Mixture when substances are not evenly distributed
Homogeneous Mixture when substances are evenly distributed.
Pure Substance a substance consisting of only one element mixed together
