Atoms

the basic unit of chemical element

Atom The basic unit of a chemical element.
Matter Physical substance in general that takes up space.
Molecule A group of atoms bonded together.
Element A single substance that is not mixed with another one.
Compound A thing that is composed of two or more elements.
homogenous of the same kind; alike.
hetergenous diverse in character or content.
mixture two or more substances which have been combined such that each substance retains its own chemical identity.
pure substance A pure substance is a sample of matter with both definite and constant composition with distinct chemical properties.
