Electric circuits

TermDefinition
Open circuit Circuit is not completed or has a switch in open position
Short circuit Current is bypassing any intended load
Series circuit All loads are inline; electrons only have one path back to voltage source
Parallel circuit Branching allows current to flow even when one branch is open
Electrical power amps x volts
Ohm's Law Current = voltage/resistance
Resistance Force opposing movement of electrons
Circuit A closed path for electric current
Voltage The electrical pressure pushing the current
Electric current Net movement of electrical charge
