Lesson 1-4
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Electric Charge | A property that leads to electromagnetic interactions between particles that make up matter. |
| Static Electrictiy | Is the build up of electrical charge on an object. |
| Electrical Conductor | Is a material through which charges move freely. |
| Electrical Insulator | Is a material through which charges cannot move easily. |
| Semiconductor | A special class of materials that conduct electric charge better than electrical insulators, but not as well as electrical conductors. |
| Electric Current | Rate or Flow of electrical charge. |
| Voltage | Amount of work required to move each unit of charge. |
| Resistance | Opposite to the flow of electric car. |
| Electric Circuit | Complete closed path closed path through which electric charges can flow. |
| Series Circuit | All parts are connected in a row that forms one path for the electrical charges to follow. |
| Parallel Circuit | Electrical charges have more than one path to follow. |
| Magnet | Any material that is attracted to another |
| Magnetic Force | Exerts a push or pull on one another |
| Magnetic Field | Area that is able to detect force |
| Magnetic Pole | Every magnet has a north and a south |
