| static electricity | the build up of electric charge of an object |
| electrical conductor | a material through which charges can move freely |
| electrical insulter | a material through which charges cannot move easily |
| semiconductors | a special class of materials that conduct electrical charge better than electrical insulators but not as well as electrical conductors |
| electric current | the rate of flow of electric charges |
| voltage | amount of work required to move each unit of charge between two points. |
| resistance | the opposition to the flow of electric charge |
| electric circuit | a complete, closed path through which electrical charges can flow. |
| series circuit | all parts connected in a row that from one path of electrical charges |
| parallel circuit | electric charges have more than one path that they can fllow |
| magnet | material that attracts iron or objects made fro iron |
| magnetic force | exerting a push or a pull |
| magnetic poets | two objects push each other because of their ends |
| magnetic field | the area surrounding a magnet where magnetic forced can be detected as a magnetic field. |
| electromagnetism | results when electric currents and magnetic fields interact with each other |
| electromagnetic | wrapping a solenoid around an iron core |
