Match the term with the definition

antagonist A character who opposes the main character
protagonist The main character in a story
point of view The vantage point a story is told from
first person point of view The story is told by a narrator who is also a character in the story
third person point of view The story is told by a narrator who is not a character in the story
characterization The way in which the personality of a character is revealed
direct characterization The personality of a character is revealed with the words of the author writing exactly what the personality is
indirect characterization The personality of a character is revealed through the actions, speech, thoughts, or appearance of the character
symbolism an physical object represents an abstract idea
foreshadow Clues or hints in a story about what will happen later in the plot
flashback The action in a story pauses to show an event that happened earlier
metaphor A comparison where one thing is said to be another
simile A comparison between two things using the words "like" or "as"
