cell membrane filters what goes in and out of the cell (like a bouncer at the club)- selectively permeable
nucleus control center of the cell- holds all genetic info
nuclear envelope selectively permeable for nucleus
nuclear pore tunnel going through membrane- allows bigger things in/out of nucleus
nucleolus stores information for making RDA
chromatin uncoiled DNA (looks like noodles)
cytoplasm a jelly-like substance that gives the cell its shape
mitochondrion the power house of the cell
golgi complex UPS of the cell; packages and ships things to other parts of the cell
centriole used when the cell divides
microtubule cellular highway- moves things from one place to another
microfilament looks like string- makes up cell skeleton
ribosome makes proteins
Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) rough with ribosomes (protein factory)vs. smooth w/ no ribosomes (makes fats)
