What SI unit is used to measure the strength of a force? The strength of a force is measured in newtons.
What is the result of unbalanced forces acting on an object? Unbalanced forces cause a change in an object's motion.
What is a force? a push or a pull
How is a force described? a force is described by the direction in which it acts and its strength, or magnitude
In a diagram, one force arrow is longer than the other arrow. What can you tell about the forces? The longer arrow represents a force with greater strength, or magnitude.
How can you find the net force if two forces act in opposite directions? To calculate net force, you combine the opposite forces by subtracting.
How do balanced forces acting on an object affect its motion? Balanced forces cancel each other out and do not change the object's motion.
How do unbalanced forces acting on an object affect its motion? Unbalanced forces cause the object's motion to change.
If you exert 120N on a desk and your friend exert 150N on the desk in the SAME direction, what is the net force exerted on the desk? 270 N
