| Chemical Energy | Chemical energy is the energy stored in materials such as,food, batteries, dynamite, and gasoline. |
| Gravitational Energy | The energy stored in objects that are in a position to fall (once the object falls, the type of energy changes.) |
| Elastic Energy | The energy stored in stretchy objects. (rubber bands and springs contain elastic energy.) |
| Heat Energy (Thermal) | The energy a substance has as a result of its temperature. Higher temp= more heat energy. |
| Light Energy | The energy carried by light rays. |
| Electrical energy | The energy that electricity provides. |
| Sound Energy | Sound energy is the energy carried by sound waves. |
| Thermal | Another word for heat. |
| Temperature | Measurement of the amount of thermal heat that an object contains. |

| Molecule | The smallest particle into which an element or compound can be divided, without changing its properties. |
| Radiation | Where heat energy is traveling by invisible waves from the source. |
| Convection | Where fluids such as air and water are heated, expand, and rise, displacing and mixing with cooler portions |
| Conduction | Where the heat energy travels through solids such as metals. |
