What are the cautionary steps the pharmacy technician should follow when handling Chemotherapeutic agents? -Wear chemo gloves when handling such agents-Ensure agents are sealed properly in appropraite containers-Keep such agents seperate from other medication-Transport angents directly to nursing unit.-Place agents in designated area, and remove chemo gloves.-
What should the pharmacy do if loss of a controlled substance occurs due to theft? Must ocntact the nearest DEA Diversions FField Office by telephone, facisimile, or by a brief written message explaining the circumstance. Also, notify the local police sa may be required by state law.
