What is the message of the books of poetry? We are blessed when we seek God in all circumstances.
Name the books of the major prophets in the OT. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel
Why are these called the minor prophets? They are shorter books than the major prophets.
Name the Old Testament historical books. Joshua, Judges, Ruth, I and II Samuel, I and II Kings, I and II Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther.

What is a commandment of God? A picture of who God is and a promise of what we can become.
Where in the Bible are the Ten Commandments located? In Exodus 20:1-17
What are the Ten Commandments? Commandments given to God's people at Mt. Sinai.
Who gave the Ten Commandments? God.
Who received the Ten Commandments? Moses.
The first commandment is "You shall have no other gods before me." What does this commandment mean? We should always keep God in first place.
The second commandment is "You shall not make for yourself an idol..." What does this commandment mean? It is wrong to worship anything but God.
The third commandment is "You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God..." What does this commandment mean? We should treat the mention of God with great respect.
The fourth commandment is "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy..." What does that mean? On Sunday we should worship God and rest.
The fifth commandment is "Honor you father and mother..." It means? We should love and obey our parents.
The sixth commandment is "You shall not murder." What does this mean? We should not unlawfully kill other people.
The seventh commandment is "You shall not commit adultery." It means? Sex is for marriage only.
The eighth commandment is "You shall not steal." It means? We should not take things that do not belong to us.
The ninth commandment is "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbour." What does this mean? We should always tell the truth.
The tenth commandment is "You shall not covet..." It means? We are to be content with the things God has given us.
Which did Jesus say were the two greatest commandments? You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength; and You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Why are all these commandments important to us? They describe the life our holy God wants for us.
