Int/Ext Validity
First 6 terms, four for internal validity and two for external validity
Term | Definition |
---|---|
HISTORY | Internal validity factor. All events that occurred in addition to the treatment between two points of measurement. |
MATURATION | Internal validity factor. All the processes operating within the subject that chance as a direct function of time. |
TESTING | Internal validity factor. Changes in scores that are due to simply taking the test or having the measurement taken more than once. |
INSTRUMENTATION | Internal validity factor. Changes in the method or calibration of the data-collection technique. |
INTERACTION OF TESTING AND TREATMENT | External validity factor. Describes how the subject's awareness of the collection of scores may influence awareness or resolve, influencing results and ability to generalize for the future. |
INTERACTION OF SELECTION AND TREATMENT | External validity factor. Results can only be generalized to those having the same unique characteristics as the subject. |
