| Aloof | Haughty; stuck-up; filled with feelings of self-importance |
| Bolt | To move rapidly away from; to run or sprint |
| Contempt | Feelings of hatred or ill will |
| Credulous | Too ready to believe things: easily fooled or cheated |
| Deleterious | Damaging or harmful; harmful, often in an unexpected way |
| Dissect | To cut (usually a plant or dead animal) into separate parts in order to study it |
| Indignation | Anger caused by something that is unfair or wrong |
| Madras | A fine plain-woven fabric usually of cotton with various designs; often plaid |
| Rue | To be filled with regret |
| Unfathomable | Not able to be imagined or understood |
| Wistful | Having or showing sad thoughts and feelings about something; especially about something that made one happy in the past |
| Nonchalance | The state of being relaxed and calm in a way that shows no care and no worry |
