QuestionAnswer
atom The smallest unit of an element that maintains the characteristics of the element. Divided as small as possible.
electron A subatomic particle that has a negative charge.
nucleus The central region of the atom, made up of protons and neutrons.
electron cloud A region around the nucleus where electrons are likely to be found.
subatomic Smaller than an atom- usually discussing protons, electrons, and neutrons (parts of the atom)
