Federal Judiciary Act Gave the Supreme Court six members, and over time it grew to nine members
Cabinet The heads of a department chosen by the president to be his advisors
Tariff A tax on imported goods
Battle of Fallen Timbers American Indians gathered at British-held Fort Miami, and they fought with about 2,000 troops against Wayne's army.
Treaty of Greenville After retreating to Fort Miami and not being helped, the Native Americans signed a treaty with Wayne's army. They would cede much of present day Ohio
Whiskey Rebellion Farmers staged a rebellion against tax, but were put down by general Lee's army
French Revolution A financial crisis led an uprising in France to demand Liberty and Equality. When the Revolution had other European kings involved, they expected help from Washington
Neutral To not side with either country and stay out of foreign affairs
Jay's Treaty British agreed to pay for all damaged U.S. vessels they had seized
Pinckney's Treaty A treaty between Spain and the U.S. that let Americans travel freely across the Mississippi river and the right to store goods on the Port of New Orleans without having to pay
Foreign Policy Relations with the governments of other countries
Political Party A group of people that tries to promote it's ideas and influence government
XYZ Affairs French agents tried to compromise with America about an issue but America had to pay $10,000,000, but Adams cancelled the treaty so U.S. could commandeer French vessels
Alien and Sedition acts A series of acts that limited immigrants coming into the U.S.
State's rights Rights of the State that the Federal government can't violate
