position describes the location of an object
reference point a location to which you compare other locations
motion a change in position over time
speed a measure of how far something moves in a given amount of time
vector a quantity that has both size and direction
velocity speed in a specific direction
acceleration the rate in which velocity changes
centripetal acceleration acceleration in a circular motion
force simple push or pull
net force combination of all forces acting on a object
inertia the tendency of all objects to resist a change in motion
gravity a force of attraction between objects due to their mass
free fall when gravity is pulling it down and no other forces are action on it
orbit when it travels around another object in space
fluid is any material that can flow and that takes the shape of its container
pressure the measure of how much force is acting in a given area
pascal the SI unit for pressure
atmospheric pressure pressure caused by weight of the atmosphere
buoyant force is an upward force that fluids exert all the matter
Archimedes principal states the buoyant force acting on an object in a fluid is in an upward force equal to the weight of fluid that the object displaces
