| motion | a change in position over time |
| speed | a measure of how far something moves in a given amount of time |
| vector | a quantity that has both size and direction |
| velocity | speed in a specific direction |
| acceleration | the rate in which velocity changes |
| centripetal acceleration | acceleration in a circular motion |
| force | simple push or pull |
| net force | combination of all forces acting on a object |
| inertia | the tendency of all objects to resist a change in motion |
| gravity | a force of attraction between objects due to their mass |
| free fall | when gravity is pulling it down and no other forces are action on it |
| orbit | when it travels around another object in space |
| fluid | is any material that can flow and that takes the shape of its container |
| pressure | the measure of how much force is acting in a given area |
| pascal | the SI unit for pressure |
| atmospheric pressure | pressure caused by weight of the atmosphere |
| buoyant force | is an upward force that fluids exert all the matter |
| Archimedes principal | states the buoyant force acting on an object in a fluid is in an upward force equal to the weight of fluid that the object displaces |
