| vector | quantity that has both size and direction |
| velocity | speed in a specific location |
| acceleration | rate which velocity change |
| centripetal acceleration | acceleration in a circular formation |
| force | a push or a pull |
| net force | combination of all forces acting on an object |
| inertia | tendency of all objects to resist a change in motion |
| gravity | force of attraction between objects due to their mass |
| free fall | gravity is pulling something down and no other forces are acting on it |
| orbit | it travels around another object in space |
| fluid | any materials that can flow and that takes the shape of its container |
| pressure | the measure of how much force is acting on a given area |
| pascal | SI unit for pressure |
| atmospheric pressure | pressure caused by the weigh of the atmosphere |
| buoyant force | upward force that fluids exert on all matters |
| Archimedes' principle | buoyant force acting on an object in a fluid is an upward force equal to the weight of the fluid that the object displaces |
