| speed | is a measure of how far something moves in a given amount of time |
| vector | is a quantity that has both size and direction |
| velocity | is speed in a specific direction |
| acceleration | is the rate of change in postion |
| centripetal acceleration | acceleration in circular motion |
| force | is simply a push or pull |
| net force | the combination of all the forces acting on one object |
| inertia | is the tendency of all objects to resist a change in motion |
| gravity | is a force of attraction between objects due to their mass |
| free fall | when gravity is pulling down and no other forces are acting on it |
| orbit | when it travels around another object in space |
| fluid | is any material that can flow and that takes the shape of a container |
| pressure | is the measure of how much force is acting on a given area |
| pascal | the SI unit for pressure |
| atmospheric pressure | the pressured caused by the weight of the atmosphere |
