TermDefinition
Position Describes the location of an object.
Reference Point A location to which you compare other locations.
Motion A change in position over time.
Speed A measure of how far something moves in a given amount of time.
Vector A quantity that has both size and direction
Velocity Speed in a specific direction.
Acceleration Measures a rate of change in velocity.
Centripetal Acceleration Acceleration in a circular motion.
Force A push or pull.
Net Force The combination of all forces acting on an object.
Inertia The tendency of all objects to resist a chance in motion.
Gravity A force of attraction between objects due to their mass.
Free Fall When gravity is pulling an object down and no other forces are acting upon it.
Orbit When an object travels around another object in space.
