TermDefinition
position. describe a position by comparing it to the location of another object or place, you are using reference point.
reference point. a location to which you compare other locations.
motion. a change in position over time.
speed. a measure of how far something moves in a given amount of time.
vector. a quantity that has both size and direction.
velocity. speed in a specific direction.
acceleration. the rate at which velocity changes.
centripetal acceleration. acceleration in circular motion is known as..
force. simply a push or pull.
net force. the combination of all the forces acting on an object.
inertia. the tendency of all objects to resist a change in motion.
gravity. a force of attraction between objects due to their mass.
free fall. when gravity is pulling it down and no other forces are acting on it.
orbit. when it travels around another object in space.
