TermDefinition
Position describes the location of an object
Reference Point Location where you compare other locations
Motion Is a change in position over time
Speed A measure of how far an object moves in a given amount of time
Vector Quantity that has both size an direction
Velocity Speed in a specific direction
Acceleration Rate at which velocity changes
centripetal acceleration Acceleration in circular motion
force simply a push or pull
net force Combination of all the forces acting on an object
Inertia The tendency of all objects to resist change in motion
Gravity Force of attraction between objects due to their mass
Free fall When gravity is pulling it down and no other forces are acting on it
Orbit When it travels around another object in space
Fluid Any material that can flow and takes the shape of a container
