Textual Types, Structures, and Elements

autobiography the account of the life of an individual which is written by the individual him/herself
biography the account of the life of an individual which is written by another individual
text structures refer to HOW an author organizes information in a text
description sensory and descriptive details that help the reader visualize information; it shares the who, what, where, when, why, and how of a topic/subject; examples: sequence & order, comparison & contrast, cause & effect, problem & solution
text elements or features provide information that may not be written in the text itself
