Conformity and Obedience

| Chameleon Effects | Mimicking others expressions to know how they are feeling |
| Mood Linkage | Sharing up and down moods |
| Conformity | Adjusting our behavior or thinking toward some group standard. |
| Normative Influence | Resulting from a persons desire to gain approval or avoid disapproval |
| Informative Social Influence | Resulting from ones willingness to accept others opinions about reality |
| Social Facilitation | Presence of others boosts performance |
| Social Loafing | Diminished effort by individuals when given a task as a group. People exert less effort. |
| Dendividuation | Less self- conscious and less retrained in group situation |
| Group Polarization | Difference within the group tend to amplify as time goes on |
| Groupthink | Desire for "harmony" or need for solution overrides realistic approach to alternatives |
| Altruism | Unselfish regard for the welfare of others |
| Social Exchange Theory | Idea that we automatically weigh our odds, with one constant goal of maximizing rewards |
| Agression | Any physical or verbal behavior inteded to hurt or destroy |
| Social Learning Theory | Learn social behavior by observing, irritating, and being rewarded or punished |
