Parts of a Microsope

What is the arm used for? Support
What do the stage clips do? Hold slide in place
What does the stage do? Supports the slide being viewed.
What does the base do? Supports the microsope
What is the purpose of the light source? Projects light upwards through the diaphragm,specimen, and lenses
What`s the objective lens? Magnifies specimen 10 to 40 times.
What does the Fine Adjustment knob do? SHARPENS the image.
What`s the nose piece do? Holds the HIGH and LOW power objective lenses, can be rotated to adjust magnification
What does the eyepiece hold? The Ocular Lens
What`s the coarse adjustment knob? Moves the stage up and down to focus the image
