Motion and Forces

TermDefinition
Position describes the location of an object
Reference Point is a location to which you compare other locations
Motion is a change in position over time
Speed measure of an object of how far something moves in a given amount of time
Vector is a quantity that has both size and direction
Velocity is a speed in a specific direction
Acceleration is the rate at which velocity changes
Centripetal Acceleration acceleration in circular motion
Force is simply a push or a pull
Net Force combination of all forces acting on an object
Inertia is the tendency of all objects to resist a change in motion
Gravity is a force of attraction between objects due to their mass
Free Fall when gravity is pulling it down and no other forces are acting on it
Orbit an object that travels around another object in space
